Paddock is an award-winning landscape architectural and urban design practice passionate about designing and creating fun and meaningful places. We are a fun, young and creative design studio based in Sydney and the Byron Shire. We respect and acknowledge the Gadigal people as the traditional custodians of the land and waterways of which we live and work.
We focus on creating spaces that contribute to the social and environmental wellbeing of communities and the urban fabric of our city spaces. We emphasise the importance of a contextually appropriate, environmentally responsive design outcome of the highest quality that heightens an understanding of place within a cultural, social and environmental framework.
Our work encompasses significant public realm projects, urban renewal projects, master planned communities, regional parklands, playspaces, schools/educational facilities, industrial developments, small scale interventions and private residential gardens.
Our studio is led by the practice director David Warwick, a Registered Landscape Architect (AILA), and our team includes Senior Landscape Architect, Landscape Architects, Student Landscape Architects and support administration.
We have extensive experience working with local governments, state approval authorities and private sector clients delivering projects within New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.

David Warwick
Director | Registered Landscape Architect AILA

David Warwick is a Registered Landscape Architect with extensive experience in landscape architecture and urban design working for the private sector. Combining his passion for travel and exploring new landscapes, he was educated in Australia and Canada and has since continued to work throughout Australia and abroad.
His experience in the field has encompassed private residential gardens, small scale interventions, master planned communities, educational campuses, playspaces, regional parklands and significant public realm projects. His work with multidisciplinary design teams has led to success on a number of projects that have been recognised with State and National industry awards.
David’s capabilities include full delivery of a project from initiation, conceptual design through to detailed design, contract administration and project management.
Luke Stepto
Senior Landscape Architect | Registered Landscape Architect AILA

Luke has joined the Paddock Landscape Architecture team as a Senior Landscape Architect based in the Byron Shire, Northern NSW.
Luke is a Registered Landscape Architect with formal qualifications in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture who joins us with 18 years of professional experience in all facets of Landscape Architecture. He has considerable experience in preparing conceptual design packages and detailed design documentation along with extensive experience in contract administration and project management.
Luke will play a key role in expanding Paddock's presence and capabilities in Northern NSW and Southeast QLD, whilst contributing to ongoing project work led by our Sydney studio. Luke will aim to strengthen our connections and deliver quality outcomes across both metropolitan and regional landscapes.
Khoa Nguyen
Landscape Architect

Khoa is a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer with a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning. His capabilities include site analysis, concept design, graphic presentation and documentation. With a particular interest in landscape and urbanism, Khoa has a strong focus on transforming and making urban spaces on different scales and a desire to connect people with places. In his time at Paddock, Khoa has worked on various projects through all stages of concept design through to documentation on a variety of scales.
Jason Cheng
Landscape Architect

Jason’s experience in delivering landscape architectural and urban design projects working towards placemaking spans sectors such as health, defence, education, transportation infrastructure and public open spaces. He has contributed to landmark projects such as NEOM - The Vault, “Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance” (SSTOM) and Suburban Rail Loop East. This has provided Jason with extensive knowledge in delivering complex designs, framework documents, strategies and to synergise with multidisciplinary design teams.
He is skilled at hand and computer graphical representation to portray concepts and analysis. Jason is passionate about producing bespoke places that provides social, economic and ecological value.
